Getting There

Air Charter

The most common way to reach Savute Safari Lodge is via a light aircraft transfer from Maun (MUB) or Kasane (BBK) airports. These flights typically take 30-40 minutes. Upon arrival at the local airstrip, a lodge representative will provide a 20-minute road transfer to the lodge. Charter flights cost varies widely, it is best to book through the lodge or a reputable tour operator.
Game Drive

Once you arrive at the airstrip, the Savute Safari Lodge is a short 20-minute game drive away. The drive itself is part of the experience, offering a first glimpse of the Savuti landscape and its wildlife. The cost is included in the lodge package.

Savute Safari Lodge is located in the remote western region of Chobe National Park, Botswana, on the banks of the Savute Channel. This area is known for its unpredictable waterways and high concentration of wildlife, especially predators. The lodge itself provides a luxurious and intimate experience, accommodating only 24 guests in 12 thatched chalets. The lodge has a rich history, evolving from one of the original safari camps in the region. Today, it offers stylish and comfortable accommodations with a contemporary African vibe. Each chalet features a private deck, a combined bedroom and lounge area, and en-suite facilities. The main lodge building is a two-story structure made of thatch and timber, housing a lounge, library, and bar. A viewing deck overlooks the Savute Channel and a nearby waterhole, providing excellent opportunities for wildlife viewing. Savute Safari Lodge focuses primarily on game drives within the Savuti region of Chobe National Park. The Savuti Marsh is famous for its wealth of wildlife, including large concentrations of elephants, lions, and spotted hyenas. The area is also known for the second-largest zebra migration in Africa, which typically occurs between November and December and again between February and April. Guests can also visit the ancient San rock paintings at Gubatsa Hills, a small hilly outcrop with fascinating cultural history. The lodge offers a range of activities, including morning and afternoon game drives in open 4x4 safari vehicles. Knowledgeable guides provide insights into the local flora and fauna, as well as the geological forces that have shaped the Savuti Channel. In the heat of the day, guests can relax by the swimming pool or on the shaded viewing deck, watching animals gather at the waterhole.
