If you are in the city center, Theatro José de Alencar can be reached by foot. Starting from Praça do Ferreira, head southwest on Rua João Moreira towards Rua Barão do Rio Branco. Turn left onto Rua Barão do Rio Branco and continue straight until you reach R. Liberato Barroso. Turn right, and the theater will be on your left after a short walk.
