Cachoeira Veu da Noiva: A Natural Wonder in Itatiaia

Getting There

• Car

  If you are driving, start from the main entrance of Itatiaia National Park located at the main road (BR-354). Head towards the park's visitor center and continue on the paved road until you reach the parking area near the trailhead for the Cachoeira Veu da Noiva. The parking area is approximately 5 km from the entrance. From the parking area, follow the well-marked trail for about 1.5 km to reach the waterfall. Be sure to wear comfortable hiking shoes as the trail can be rocky and uneven.

• Public Transportation

  If you are using public transport, take a bus from major cities like Rio de Janeiro or São Paulo to Itatiaia. The bus will drop you off at the Itatiaia bus station. From there, you can either take a taxi or a local ride-sharing service to the main entrance of Itatiaia National Park. Once at the park, follow the same instructions for drivers: proceed to the parking area near the trailhead and hike to the waterfall. Note that public transportation options may be limited, so plan your return trip accordingly.

• Hiking

  Once you reach the parking area, begin your hike on the designated trail. The trail to Cachoeira Veu da Noiva is well-marked, but it is advisable to carry a map or use a GPS-enabled device to stay on track. The hike should take approximately 30-45 minutes depending on your pace. Along the way, you can enjoy the park's rich biodiversity, so keep an eye out for local flora and fauna.
