Visitors can journey through the history of money, from the earliest forms of currency to modern credit cards. Interactive displays illustrate the coin minting process and the evolution of currency throughout history.One of the museum's highlights is its extensive collection of medals, the largest in Latin America, which commemorate historical, political, economic, and religious events. These medals, crafted from various materials such as gold, silver, bronze, and enamel, offer a unique perspective on Brazilian and global history. In addition to its numismatic collections, the METL also features a library, a cinema, and galleries for temporary exhibitions. Since its reopening in May 1995, the museum has been housed in three interconnected buildings, providing ample space for its extensive collections and visitor amenities.
