The Monumento à Cidade de Salvador, also known as the Fonte da Rampa do Mercado, is a sculpture by the Bahian artist Mário Cravo Júnior, erected in 1970. Located in the Comércio district, it stands as a symbol of the city, representing the sails of traditional boats. After being destroyed by fire in 2019, it was restored and reinaugurated in 2023.

From the Pelourinho area, find the nearest bus stop on Rua da Misericórdia. Board a bus heading towards Comércio. After approximately 10-15 minutes, get off at the stop named 'Cruz da Redenção'. From there, walk about 5 minutes along Avenida Lafayete Coutinho towards the water. The monument will be on your left, directly facing the bay. The bus fare is approximately R$5.20.
