From the center of Assomada, head east towards the main road (Rua da Liberdade). Continue straight for about 1 km until you reach the intersection with Rua 1 de Maio. Turn left onto Rua 1 de Maio and walk for approximately 500 meters until you see a local market. Here, ask locals for directions to Santa Marilha Horse Excursions as it is a popular local attraction. Continue on the path until you reach the outskirts of the town, where you will find signs directing you to Santa Marilha.

From Assomada, head to the nearest bus stop and take a local 'Aluguer' (shared taxi) that is going towards Santa Maria. The fare is usually inexpensive.
