Getting There

  • Walking

    From the central square in Assomada, head northeast on Avenida da Liberdade towards Rua José de Almeida. Continue straight for about 500 meters until you reach the intersection with Rua 5 de Julho. Turn right onto Rua 5 de Julho and walk for another 300 meters. You will see the bus station on your left. From here, take a local 'aluguer' (shared taxi) heading towards Ribeira Principal. The fare is usually around 50 CVE. Once you arrive at Ribeira Principal, ask the driver to drop you off at the entrance of Serra Malagueta Natural Park, which is approximately a 10-minute ride from the bus station.

    After reaching the bus station in Assomada, locate the 'aluguer' vehicles that go to Ribeira Principal. Make sure to confirm with the driver that they are heading to Serra Malagueta Natural Park. It's recommended to leave in the early morning for the best experience. The journey to the park takes about 30 minutes.
