From the center of Cidade Velha, the church is a short walk. Head northwest towards the Ribeira Grande de Santiago river. The church is located near the right bank. The walk is easy and offers views of the surrounding historical sites.

From Praia, take an 'aluguer' (public minibus) from Sucupira Market west of Plateau. The cost is approximately 100 CVE. Ask to be dropped off near the side road to Forteleza Real de São Filipe. From there, it's a short walk to the church. Aluguers return to Praia frequently from the main square.
