Start your journey at the center of Carmel-by-the-Sea, at Ocean Avenue and San Carlos Street. Head east on Ocean Avenue towards the beach until you reach the intersection with Mission Street. Turn left onto Mission Street and continue walking until you reach the intersection with 5th Avenue. From there, continue straight until you reach the intersection with Lighthouse Avenue. Turn left onto Lighthouse Avenue and continue heading north. After a few blocks, you will reach a bus stop at Lighthouse and 8th Street. Catch the Monterey-Salinas Transit Line 1 heading towards Monterey. After approximately 15 minutes, get off at the stop near 777 Pearl St, which is the location of Dennis The Menace Playground.

Begin at the bike rental shops located on Ocean Avenue. Rent a bike and head east on Ocean Avenue towards the beach, then take a right onto Scenic Road to enjoy the coastal views. Follow Scenic Road until it turns into 17-Mile Drive, continuing until you reach the entrance to Monterey. Once in Monterey, follow the signs leading to El Estero Park Complex. Dennis The Menace Playground is located within the park at 777 Pearl St. It’s about a 20-minute bike ride. Remember to lock your bike at the rack before exploring the playground.

From Carmel-by-the-Sea, walk to the nearest bus stop on San Carlos Street. Take the Monterey-Salinas Transit Line 1, which travels directly to Monterey. Stay on the bus for about 15 minutes, then disembark at the stop closest to 777 Pearl St. From there, follow Pearl Street towards the playground, which is located within the El Estero Park Complex.
