From the center of Castro Valley, start at the Castro Valley Bart Station. Exit the station and head east on Castro Valley Blvd. Continue on Castro Valley Blvd for approximately 0.6 miles until you reach the intersection with Redwood Rd. Turn left onto Redwood Rd. Walk for about 0.3 miles, and you will see a bus stop on your right. You can catch Bus Line 30 here to Hayward. After a 15-minute bus ride, disembark at the stop near 3rd St in Hayward. Walk north on 3rd St for about 0.2 miles, and you will arrive at the Japanese Gardens located at 22373 N 3rd St, Hayward, CA 94546.

From Castro Valley Bart Station, take the Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) train towards San Francisco/Daly City. Change trains at the Hayward Station. Once you arrive at Hayward Station, exit and head to the bus stop outside the station. Take Bus Line 30 heading to Hayward. Travel for approximately 10 minutes and get off at the stop closest to 3rd St. From there, walk north along 3rd St for about 0.2 miles until you reach the Japanese Gardens located at 22373 N 3rd St, Hayward, CA 94546.
