    If you are driving from the main entrance of Joshua Tree National Park, take Park Boulevard south towards the Hidden Valley Campground. Continue on Park Boulevard until you reach the intersection with Keys View Road. Turn left onto Keys View Road and follow it for about 5 miles. At the end of Keys View Road, turn right onto CA-62 E. Continue for approximately 6 miles. Look for the signs to Painted Canyon on your right. Turn onto the dirt road leading to the Painted Canyon trailhead. There is a parking area available.
