If you are driving from Joshua Tree National Park, take Highway 62 (Twentynine Palms Highway) heading south towards Palm Desert. Continue on Highway 62 for about 26 miles until you reach the intersection with Highway 111. Turn left onto Highway 111 and continue for approximately 8 miles. Look for Portola Avenue and turn right. The Living Desert Zoo and Gardens will be located on your left at 47900 Portola Ave, Palm Desert, CA 92260. There is a parking fee, so be prepared for an entrance cost.
