    Starting from the center of Joshua Tree, head east on Highway 62. Walk along the sidewalk until you reach the intersection with Park Boulevard. Turn right onto Park Boulevard. Continue straight until you reach the entrance of Joshua Tree National Park. Once at the entrance, you will need to walk along National Park Drive, which is a direct route to the Desert Institute. The Desert Institute is located at 74485 National Park Dr, Twentynine Palms, CA 92277. It will be on your left-hand side after approximately 2 miles.

  • Bicycle

    From downtown Joshua Tree, rent a bicycle from one of the local shops. Start your ride heading east on Highway 62. Be cautious as the highway can be busy. After about 1 mile, turn right onto Park Boulevard and continue riding. Follow Park Boulevard straight until you reach the entrance of Joshua Tree National Park. Once you enter the park, continue along National Park Drive for about 2 miles. The Desert Institute will be on your left at 74485 National Park Dr, Twentynine Palms, CA 92277.
