If you're traveling by car, start on US-101 S from anywhere on the San Francisco Peninsula. Follow US-101 S for approximately 12 miles. Take the exit for Millbrae Ave toward Millbrae. Continue on Millbrae Ave for about 1.5 miles, then turn left onto Skyline Blvd. After about 0.5 miles, turn right onto the access road leading to the Portolà Expedition Camp Historical Landmark, located at HHQP+HP, Millbrae, CA 94030. There is usually no entrance fee, but check for any parking fees that may apply.

To reach the Portolà Expedition Camp via public transportation, start by taking the BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) system. Get on a BART train heading towards Millbrae from any of the San Francisco stations. Once you arrive at Millbrae station, exit the train and transfer to the SamTrans bus. Take the SamTrans Route 140 or Route 41 towards Skyline Blvd. Ask the driver to let you off at the nearest stop to the Portolà Expedition Camp. From there, it's a short walk to the landmark located at HHQP+HP, Millbrae, CA 94030. BART fares vary, typically costing between $2.50 to $5.00 depending on your starting station, and the bus fare is around $2.50.
