If you're driving from downtown Santa Barbara, head northwest on State St toward W Anapamu St. Merge onto US-101 N via the ramp to Los Angeles. Continue on US-101 N for about 10 miles. Take exit 107 for CA-217 toward Goleta. Continue on CA-217 until it merges with Hollister Ave. Turn right onto Coronado Dr. The Coronado Butterfly Preserve will be on your left. Parking is available on-site, and is free.

Public Transportation
From downtown Santa Barbara, take the MTD (Muni Transit District) bus number 11 towards Goleta. The bus stop is located at the Santa Barbara Transit Center. Ride the bus for approximately 30 minutes and disembark at the Coronado Dr & Hollister Ave stop. From there, walk south on Coronado Dr for about 0.5 miles. The Coronado Butterfly Preserve will be on your right. The cost for a one-way bus fare is about $1.75.

If you prefer biking, you can rent a bicycle from one of the local shops in downtown Santa Barbara. Head west on State St, then merge onto US-101 N and follow the bike lanes on Hollister Ave to Coronado Dr. The ride is approximately 6 miles and takes about 30 minutes, depending on your pace. There are bike racks available at the preserve for secure parking.
