Getting There

Walking
From Santa Monica Pier, head east on Colorado Avenue toward Ocean Avenue. Continue on Ocean Avenue until you reach the intersection with Main Street. Turn left onto Main Street and walk south. Keep walking for about 1 mile; you will cross over the Venice Canal Historic District. As you approach the end of Main Street, you will find yourself in Venice Beach, which is a vibrant area with many shops and restaurants. Continue walking straight until you reach the Venice Boardwalk.

Biking
Rent a bike from one of the many bike rental shops near Santa Monica Pier. Once you have your bike, head west toward the beach and join the bike path along the coast. Pedal south along the scenic beach path, passing through Santa Monica State Beach and then heading into Venice Beach. This ride is approximately 2 miles and will take you directly to Venice Beach, where you can explore the boardwalk and the local attractions.

Public Transit
From the Santa Monica Transit Center, take the Big Blue Bus Route 1 towards Downtown Los Angeles. Get off at the stop at Ocean Park Boulevard & Main Street. Transfer to the Metro Bus 733 at the same stop, heading towards Venice. After a few stops, you will reach the Venice area. Disembark at the Venice Blvd & Pacific Avenue stop, and you will be just a short walk from the Venice Beach Boardwalk.
