Getting There

    From downtown Dunsmuir, head north on Dunsmuir Avenue. Turn into the park at the locomotive engine next to the Community Building at 4835 Dunsmuir Avenue. Follow the road uphill, passing the Alexander Dunsmuir Fountain. Continue past the tennis court and around to the parking lot adjacent to the river. Parking is free, but limited.

    From downtown Dunsmuir, the gardens are accessible via a pleasant 15-minute walk. Follow Dunsmuir Avenue north, crossing the Sacramento River. Turn left onto Pioneer Way, then right onto Upper Soda Road. The signed entrance to the gardens will be on your right. Follow the road into the park. There are no costs associated with walking.

  • Public Transport

    The Siskiyou Transit bus stops at Park @ the Top Of the Hill, which is a 5-minute walk to the Dunsmuir Botanical Gardens. From the bus stop, walk south towards Dunsmuir Avenue. Turn left onto Dunsmuir Avenue and walk a short distance to the park entrance at the locomotive engine. Follow the road into the park. Bus fare is typically $2-$4.
