Getting There

  • BART and Bus

    From Walnut Creek BART Station, take the BART train towards the Embarcadero. Transfer at the Montgomery Street station to the Muni Metro. Take the Muni Metro N-Judah line towards Ocean Beach. Get off at the California St & Presidio Ave stop. From there, you can catch the 43-Masonic bus towards the Presidio. Get off at the stop for Marine Dr & Fort Point. Walk along Marine Drive to reach Fort Point National Historic Site, which will be on your right.

  • Biking

    If you prefer biking, rent a bike at one of the local rental shops in Walnut Creek. Follow Ygnacio Valley Rd towards the north and merge onto the Iron Horse Trail. Continue north until you reach the Walnut Creek Canal, then follow the canal trail which will take you towards the Bay Trail. Once you reach the Bay Trail, head west towards San Francisco and follow the signs to the Golden Gate Bridge. After crossing the bridge, follow the signs to Fort Point, which is located at 201 Marine Dr.

  • Walking

    If you are feeling adventurous and would like to walk, you can take a scenic route. Start at the Walnut Creek City Hall and walk north on N Main St. Continue until you reach the Iron Horse Trail and follow it towards the north. This will take you through various parks and scenic views. Although this is a long walk, it will eventually lead you towards the Bay Trail. Once you are near the Bay, follow the signs to the Golden Gate Bridge and then proceed to Fort Point.
