Car
From Winnipeg, take the Trans-Canada Highway (Highway 1) west towards Portage la Prairie. Continue on Highway 1 for approximately 120 kilometers. At the junction with Highway 16, take the exit towards Brandon and continue on Highway 1 for another 90 kilometers until you reach the turnoff for Highway 5. Turn onto Highway 5 and continue for about 25 kilometers until you reach the entrance to Riding Mountain National Park. Follow the park road to the Brule Trail parking area, which is well-marked.
Public Transportation (Bus)
From Winnipeg, take a Greyhound bus to Brandon, which is the closest major city to Riding Mountain National Park. The bus ride takes about 2 hours and costs approximately $35 CAD one way. Upon arriving in Brandon, you can rent a car or take a local taxi (approximately $50 CAD) to reach the park entrance. Once inside, follow the park road to the Brule Trail parking area.
Carpooling/Rideshare
If you are in a city like Brandon, consider using a rideshare app to get to Riding Mountain National Park. This can be a cost-effective and convenient option. Expect to pay around $20-30 CAD depending on the distance and the service used. Once at the park entrance, follow the signs to the Brule Trail parking area.
Bicycle
For the adventurous, consider biking from nearby towns like Wasagaming or Minnedosa. Ensure you are well-prepared with a map and necessary supplies. The ride can be challenging, with varying terrain, so be ready for a physically demanding experience. From Wasagaming, it is approximately a 12 km ride to the Brule Trail entrance, following the park roads.
