Getting There

  • Walking

    From the center of San Pedro de Atacama, head towards the main square (Plaza de San Pedro). From the square, walk west on Calle Toconao until you reach the intersection with Calle Caracoles. Turn left on Calle Caracoles and continue walking until you reach the junction with Route 23. Follow Route 23 heading south. After about 2 km, you will see the entrance to Cordillera de la Sal on your right. The walk is approximately 30-40 minutes, so wear comfortable shoes and bring water.

    Rent a bicycle from one of the many shops in San Pedro de Atacama. Start from the main square and head west on Calle Toconao. Continue to the intersection with Calle Caracoles and turn left. The bike ride will take around 15-20 minutes, and it's a scenic route, so enjoy the views!
