Getting There

Car
If you're driving, head out from Santa Marta towards the 'Troncal del Caribe' highway (Route 90). Follow the signs towards Palomino. After approximately 35 kilometers, you will exit towards 'Buritaca'. Drive along the road for about 10 kilometers until you reach the Río Buritaca area. Be aware that the road conditions may vary, so drive cautiously. There is usually no toll on this route.

From Santa Marta, go to the main bus terminal (Terminal de Transportes). Look for buses heading to Palomino. The trip takes about 1.5 hours, and the fare is approximately 15,000 COP. Ask the driver to drop you off at the 'Buritaca' stop. Once you get off, you may need to walk around 1 kilometer towards the river area. Alternatively, you can take a motorcycle taxi from the bus stop for about 5,000 COP.
