Getting There

Car
From Aspen, Colorado, take Maroon-Snowmass Trail heading south from the Maroon Bells Scenic Area parking. Follow the road until it becomes a dirt road. Continue on this road for approximately 2 miles, and you will find the trailhead for the Maroon-Snowmass Trail. There is a parking fee of $10 per vehicle, which is required to park in the area.

Hiking
Once you have parked at the Maroon-Snowmass Trailhead, follow the Maroon-Snowmass Trail. The trail is well marked and offers stunning views. Hike approximately 4 miles along the trail, which will lead you directly to West Maroon Creek. Be prepared for a moderate hike that may take 2-3 hours depending on your fitness level.

Public Transportation
If you are not driving, you can take the Roaring Fork Transportation Authority (RFTA) bus from Aspen to the Maroon Bells area. The bus route 8 will take you to the Maroon Bells shuttle stop. From there, you will need to purchase a ticket for the Maroon Bells shuttle, which costs $15 per person. Once you arrive at the shuttle stop, follow the same hiking instructions as above to reach West Maroon Creek.
