    From downtown Evergreen, head west on CO-74 (Evergreen Parkway). Turn left onto Buffalo Park Road. The Alderfer/Three Sisters East Trailhead is located at 30357 Buffalo Park Rd, Evergreen, CO 80439, on your right. Parking is free, but the lot fills up quickly, especially on weekends. Limited roadside parking is available. During peak times, additional parking is available at Wilmot Elementary School, a 10-minute walk (0.5 miles) from the trailhead.

    From Denver, take the RTD bus route 16 to Evergreen. From the Evergreen bus stop, you will need to use a rideshare service (Uber or Lyft) or a taxi to reach the Alderfer/Three Sisters East Trailhead, as public transportation does not go directly to the trailhead. A taxi or rideshare from Evergreen to the trailhead will cost approximately $15-$25.

The historic Alderfer Barn, originally built in the 1850s and expanded over the years, now hosts weddings and special events. The park's diverse landscape includes rolling hills, meadows covered in wildflowers, impressive ponderosa pines, and lodgepole pine forests. Wildlife sightings are common, with black bears, foxes, deer, and elk inhabiting the area. Popular activities include hiking, mountain biking, rock climbing, and simply enjoying the scenic overlooks. Several trails cater to different skill levels. The Three Sisters Trail is a challenging 6.4-mile loop that takes hikers through forests and past rocky terrain. For an easier hike, the Evergreen Mountain Trail offers gentle slopes and views. For a longer hike with fewer people, try the Hidden Fawn Trail. From the summit of Evergreen Mountain, enjoy views of Mount Evans Wilderness, the Denver skyline, and Evergreen Lake.
