Getting There

  • Driving

    From Estes Park, drive south on CO-7 for approximately 10 miles. Look for the large National Park sign and turn right towards Longs Peak Campground. Follow the road up, turning left at the end to reach the trailhead parking area. Be aware that parking is limited and fills up very early, especially during peak season. Arriving before sunrise is highly recommended. A valid park entry permit is required.

  • Public Transport

    During peak season (late May to mid-October), the Hiker Shuttle provides service from the Estes Park Visitor Center to the Park & Ride transit hub inside Rocky Mountain National Park. From there, you can connect to other shuttle routes, but note that there is no direct shuttle to Longs Peak Trailhead. You would need to arrange separate transportation from the Park & Ride to the trailhead. Hiker Shuttle tickets are $2 per reservation and must be purchased in advance on Recreation.gov. A timed entry reservation may also be required to enter the park.

  • Taxi/Ride-Share

    Taxi or ride-share services from Estes Park to Longs Peak Trailhead are limited but available. Expect to pay around $30-$50 for a one-way trip, depending on the provider and demand.
