Train
To reach the United Nations Headquarters from Stamford, start by heading to the Stamford Train Station located at 1 Washington Blvd, Stamford, CT 06902. Purchase a ticket for a Metro-North train heading towards Grand Central Terminal in New York City. The journey typically takes about 50 minutes. Once you arrive at Grand Central Terminal, follow the signs to exit on 42nd Street. Then, walk east on 42nd Street until you reach 1st Avenue. Turn left on 1st Avenue and walk north for about 10 minutes. The United Nations Headquarters will be on your right at 405 E 45th Street.
Bus
From Stamford, you can take a Greyhound or Peter Pan bus to New York City. Head to the Stamford Transportation Center at 30 Station Plaza. Purchase a ticket to New York City, and board the bus. The ride usually takes about 1.5 to 2 hours, depending on traffic. Once you arrive in New York, you will typically be dropped off at the Port Authority Bus Terminal. From there, take the A or C subway trains from 42nd Street/Port Authority to 42nd Street/Times Square. Switch to the 7 train towards Flushing and get off at 5th Avenue. Walk east on 42nd Street until you reach 1st Avenue, turn left, and walk north for about 10 minutes. The United Nations Headquarters is located at 405 E 45th Street.
Walking
If you are already in the vicinity of Stamford and prefer walking, head towards the Stamford Train Station (1 Washington Blvd, Stamford, CT 06902) and take the train as described above.
