Upon arrival, proceed to the Harriot Powell Visitor Center, located about 1 mile (1.7 km) before the reserve entrance, to check in and purchase or collect your tickets. Parking at the official parking lot costs $5 USD. A shuttle service is available from the parking lot to the reserve entrance for $5 USD per person.

    From downtown Santa Elena, take the public bus that runs to the Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve. The bus departs from the Banco Nacional in Santa Elena at 6:15 AM, 7:30 AM, 9:30 AM, 1:20 PM, and 3:00 PM. The return buses leave the reserve at 6:40 AM, 8:30 AM, 11:00 AM, 2:00 PM, and 4:00 PM.
