Look for signs pointing towards Golfo de Santa Elena. Take the turnoff that leads you towards the coast. Follow the signs to Playa las Pilas, which is located near the Gulf of Santa Elena. Note that parking may be available near the beach.

To reach Playa las Pilas via public transportation, first take a local bus from Monteverde to Puntarenas. Buses leave regularly from the main terminal. The journey takes about 1.5 to 2 hours. Once in Puntarenas, transfer to a bus heading towards Golfo de Santa Elena. Be sure to confirm that the bus stops near Playa las Pilas. Keep in mind that the total cost of the bus ride is typically around 5,000 to 10,000 CRC (Costa Rican Colón), depending on the routes.
