Public Transport
To reach Laguna Hule via public transportation from San José, begin at Terminal 7-10 and take a bus to Alajuela (approximately 600-800 CRC, 30 minutes). From the Alajuela bus terminal, transfer to a bus to Río Cuarto (check schedules as frequency may vary, approximately 30-40 minutes). Upon arriving at the Río Cuarto bus stop, you can walk to Laguna Hule (6 km, approximately 1.5 hours), or take a taxi (approximately 5,000-7,000 CRC, 15-20 minutes).

Driving
From San José, take the road towards Poás Volcano National Park, then continue towards Vara Blanca and La Paz Waterfall Gardens. After La Paz, follow the road to Nueva Cinchona, turning left towards Laguna Hule (6 km from there). Alternatively, drive to Zarcero, then Bajos del Toro, then Río Cuarto, and finally to Laguna Hule. From Arenal Volcano-La Fortuna, Sarapiquí, or Guápiles, take the Río Cuarto route. Note that the last few kilometers may be gravel roads. There is no entry fee to access the reserve.
