    The most direct way to reach Fort Imperial is via the Dubrovnik Cable Car. The lower station is located just outside the Old Town walls. From Pile Gate, walk north for about 12 minutes to reach the station. Purchase a ticket and enjoy the 4-minute ride to the top of Mount Srđ. From the upper station, follow the signs to Fort Imperial, a short walk away. A round-trip ticket costs €30 for adults and €8 for children (4-12 years). Tickets can be purchased at the lower station with Euros or credit cards.

    For a more adventurous approach, hike to Fort Imperial from Dubrovnik's Old Town. Start at Pile Gate and head towards the cable car station. Instead of taking the cable car, continue on the path leading up the hill. The well-marked trail takes approximately 30-45 minutes. Be prepared for a steep climb, wear comfortable shoes, and bring water. The route offers scenic views along the way. There is no cost for hiking.

  • Public Transport

    To reach the cable car station using public transport, take bus number 2 from the main bus station in Dubrovnik. The bus ride takes approximately 10-15 minutes and costs around 15 HRK. Get off at the cable car station and purchase your ticket to take the cable car up to Fort Imperial. Alternatively, bus line 17 goes from across the street from Pile Gate to Bosanka, a village a 25-minute walk from the top. Bus tickets cost €2, payable in cash only.

  • Taxi/Uber

    You can take a taxi or Uber from Dubrovnik city center to the top of Mount Srđ. A ride from Pile Gate to the top will cost approximately €8-€10. Parking is available in front of Fort Imperial and is free of charge. However, parking spaces are limited, especially during peak season.
