Car
From anywhere in Sussex County, take DE-1 South, which is the main highway that runs through the county. If you're starting from Rehoboth Beach, head northwest on Coastal Highway (DE-1) and follow the signs for DE-1 South. Continue on DE-1 for about 12 miles. Take the exit for DE-26 East toward Frankford. After about 4 miles, turn left onto Mulberry Landing Road. The Assawoman Wildlife Area will be located on your left at 37604 Mulberry Landing Rd, Frankford, DE 19945. There is no entry fee for the wildlife area, but make sure your vehicle has enough gas for the trip.

Public Transportation
While public transportation options are limited in Sussex County, you can take the DART First State bus service. Board the DART Route 204 bus towards Rehoboth Beach. Transfer at the Rehoboth Beach Transit Center to Route 201, which goes towards Frankford. Get off at the nearest stop to Mulberry Landing Road and then expect to walk approximately 2 miles along the road to reach Assawoman Wildlife Area. Be aware that this may take longer, and check the DART website for current schedules and fare information, which is typically around $1.75 for a one-way trip.
