Car
If you're traveling by car, start from downtown Dover and head northwest on State Street toward W Loockerman Street. Turn left onto W Loockerman Street and continue for about 1 mile. Merge onto DE-1 N via the ramp to Wilmington. After approximately 8 miles, take the exit toward US-202 N. Continue on US-202 N for about 5 miles, then take exit 10B for I-95 N toward Wilmington. After about 2 miles, take exit 10 for DE-92 W/Concord Pike. Follow DE-92 W for approximately 3 miles, then turn right onto Smithbridge Road. Continue on Smithbridge Road for about 1 mile, and you'll see the Smith's Bridge Covered Bridge on your left.
Public Transportation
If you prefer public transportation, take the DART First State bus service from downtown Dover. Board the bus heading toward Wilmington. You will need to transfer at the Wilmington Transit Center. From there, take the bus line that goes toward US-202 N and get off at the stop closest to Smithbridge Road. After disembarking, you will have a short walk of about 0.5 miles to reach the bridge.
