Built in 2018 and named after Max Henius, the founder of the Rebild National Park Society, the shelter features a robinia shingle roof and stands 8.5 meters tall. Inside, you'll find picnic tables and benches, accommodating up to 48 people, along with grills for public use. Remember to bring your own firewood to enjoy a crackling fire while taking in the serene surroundings. Whether you're seeking a peaceful rest or a place to enjoy a meal, Bålhytten offers a memorable experience in the heart of Rebild Bakker.

Driving
If arriving by car, navigate towards Rebild Bakker. Follow signs for RebildPorten, the visitor center. Ample free parking is available near RebildPorten. From the parking area, the Bålhytten is a short, approximately 400-meter walk down the path. Follow the signs towards 'Gryden' (the bowl-shaped area where the Rebild Festival is held). The Bålhytten will be on your left, just off the main path.

Public Transport
From Skørping Station, take Bus 104 or 53N towards Rebild Bakker (Rebildvej / Rebild). The bus ride is approximately 10 minutes. From the bus stop, walk along Rebildvej towards RebildPorten (approximately 5 minutes). From RebildPorten, follow the directions as described in the 'Driving' guidance for the final walk to the Bålhytten. A single bus fare costs approximately 20 DKK.

From RebildPorten, proceed down the main path towards 'Gryden'. The path is well-maintained and easy to follow. After approximately 400 meters, you'll find the Bålhytten on your left, nestled among the trees. The walk from RebildPorten is relatively flat and suitable for most fitness levels.
