Once you arrive at the park entrance, there may be a small entrance fee (around 100 Dominican Pesos) to access the park. Follow the signs leading to Laguna de Oviedo. The road can be a mix of paved and unpaved sections, so drive cautiously. After about 10 kilometers of winding roads and beautiful landscapes, you will arrive at the parking area near Laguna de Oviedo.

For those traveling by public transport, take a guagua (shared van) from the nearest city, Barahona, towards Sierra de Bahoruco. The fare will typically cost around 50-70 Dominican Pesos. Once you arrive in Sierra de Bahoruco, you will need to hire a motoconcho (motorcycle taxi) to take you to Laguna de Oviedo. The motoconcho ride should cost around 200-300 Dominican Pesos. Make sure to negotiate the fare beforehand. The ride will take you through scenic routes until you reach the entrance of the National Park, where you may need to pay an entrance fee of about 100 Dominican Pesos. From the entrance, the motoconcho can take you closer to the lagoon.
