Walking
Start at the center of Mekele, at the main square (Mekele Meskel Square). From there, head southeast on the main road (Adigrat Road). Walk for about 1 kilometer until you reach the intersection with a road on your left. Turn left at this intersection. Continue on this road for about 2 kilometers. You will pass local shops and cafes. Keep an eye out for signs indicating the direction to Daniel Korkor Monastery. After you pass a small market, you will see a well-marked path leading up the hill towards the monastery. Follow this path, which has a slight incline. The hike will take about 20-30 minutes. The monastery is located on a rocky outcrop, and you will be able to see it as you approach.

Public Transport (Bicycle Taxi)
From your location in Mekele, find a bicycle taxi (also known as 'Bajaj' or tuk-tuk). Inform the driver that you want to go to Daniel Korkor Monastery. They will know the location. The ride will take approximately 15-20 minutes depending on traffic. The driver will drop you off at the foot of the hill leading up to the monastery. From there, follow the walking path up to the monastery, which takes about 20 minutes. Be sure to ask the driver the fare beforehand to avoid any misunderstandings.
