Múlafossur Waterfall, located near the village of Gásadalur on the island of Vágar, is one of the most iconic and photographed sights in the Faroe Islands. The waterfall plunges dramatically about 30 meters (98 feet) into the North Atlantic Ocean, creating a stunning visual contrast against the backdrop of lush green cliffs and the traditional Faroese village. Gásadalur, meaning "Goose Valley," is surrounded by mountains over 700 meters (2,296 feet) high. Until 2004, the village was only accessible by boat, helicopter, or a challenging hike over the mountains. The area offers numerous hiking trails that lead to spectacular viewpoints, providing opportunities to experience the raw beauty of the Faroe Islands up close. The waterfall is easily accessible from a parking area in Gásadalur, followed by a short walk along a well-marked path.
