Discover more about View on Mullafossur and Gasadalur village

Múlafossur Waterfall is a breathtaking natural wonder located adjacent to the village of Gásadalur on the island of Vágar in the Faroe Islands. The waterfall plunges dramatically about 30 meters (98 feet) from the cliffs directly into the North Atlantic Ocean, creating a mesmerizing spectacle. The combination of the waterfall's power and the village's serene atmosphere makes it a must-see destination for nature lovers and photographers. Gásadalur itself is nestled between lush green fields and towering mountains, offering panoramic views. Until 2004, the village was the only one in the Faroe Islands without a road connection, accessible only by a strenuous hike over the mountains or by boat. The construction of the Gásadalstunnilin tunnel in 2004 changed this, linking the village to the rest of the island and making it much more accessible. Despite the increased accessibility, Gásadalur has retained its charm and unspoiled nature. The village has a small café and venue called Gásadalsgarður, where you can enjoy local Faroese food and beverages. There is also a small guesthouse, Hjallrímsstova, and a souvenir shop, Uanni, offering local crafts and goods. Parking is available near the village, and access to the waterfall is a short, easy walk. The best time to visit is during the summer months for milder weather and longer daylight hours, but the location is stunning year-round.
