  • Public Transport

    The Museum of Central Finland is easily accessible by Jyväskylä's local public transport, Linkki. The closest bus stops are 'Museo 2' on Hannikaisenkatu street and 'Yliopisto 1' on Keskussairaalantie street. From Museo 2, the museum is about 170 meters away and is accessible with a pram or pushchair. From Yliopisto 1, an outdoor staircase provides the shortest path to the museum, but there is also a route around the stairs via Seminaarinkatu or Kramsunkatu streets, making the distance approximately 400 meters. A single ticket costs €4.00 when purchased with cash from the driver or €2.70 if using a mobile app or contactless payment. A 24-hour day ticket is also available for €11.

  • Walking

    The Museum of Central Finland is located in the Ruusupuisto neighborhood, next to the Seminaarinmäki campus of the University of Jyväskylä. From the Jyväskylä city center, it is approximately a 15-20 minute walk. Walk north-west towards the University campus. The museum is located near the Alvar Aalto Museum.

  • Car

    If arriving by car, there is disc parking available right by the museum, further down along Alvar Aallon katu, and above the museum building near Keskussairaalantie. There is also paid parking at the corner of Hannikaisenkatu and Alvar Aallon katu. Paid street parking in this area costs €3.00 per hour on weekdays from 8 am to 8 pm and on Saturdays from 8 am to 4 pm. Free parking is available at the City Hall or city administration quarter (Hannikaisenkatu 17) on weekdays after 4 pm and on weekends. Visitor parking at the University costs 1.50 €/h and max 10 € for a day (24h).
