Getting There

• Car

  If you are driving, head towards Thann. Use the A36 motorway and take exit 12 for Thann. Follow the signs for D430 towards Thann. Once in Thann, continue straight on Avenue de la République, then turn left onto Rue de la Gare. Follow this road until you reach Place Modeste Zussy, where the South Gate of the Wine Road of Alsace is located. There is usually street parking available nearby, but be sure to check for any parking fees.

• Public Transportation

  For those using public transport, take a train to Thann from major cities like Mulhouse or Colmar. The Thann train station is well-connected. Once you arrive at Thann station, exit and walk towards Avenue de la République. From there, it’s a 15-minute walk to Place Modeste Zussy. Alternatively, you can take a local bus (line 12) from Thann station directly to Place Modeste Zussy. Be sure to check the local bus schedule for any fare costs, which typically range from €1.50 to €3.00.

• Bicycle

  If you prefer cycling, there are bicycle paths leading to Thann from surrounding areas. You can follow the marked cycling routes from nearby towns such as Cernay or Masevaux. Once in Thann, head toward Place Modeste Zussy. There are bike racks available for parking your bicycle securely while you visit the South Gate.

• Walking

  If you are already in Thann, the South Gate is easily accessible on foot. From the town center, head towards Avenue de la République, then make your way to Rue de la Gare and walk straight until you reach Place Modeste Zussy. The walk should take no more than 10-15 minutes.
