    Getting There

    Car

    If you are driving, start from Papeete, the capital of French Polynesia. Head southeast on Route 2 towards the ferry terminal at Papeete Harbor. The journey should take around 15-20 minutes. Once at the harbor, you will need to park your car at one of the designated parking areas. The parking fee is approximately 500 XPF (French Polynesian Franc) per hour. From Papeete Harbor, take a ferry to the island of Moorea, which takes about 30 minutes. Ferries run frequently throughout the day. Upon arrival in Moorea, you can either rent a car or take a taxi to the next ferry terminal to board a ferry to La Digue. This ferry trip will take approximately 20 minutes.

    Public Transportation

    To reach La Digue using public transportation, start from Papeete and take a local bus to Papeete Harbor. The bus fare is about 150 XPF. Once at the harbor, purchase a ferry ticket to Moorea, which costs approximately 1,500 XPF one way. After a 30-minute ferry ride to Moorea, use the local bus service or a taxi to get to the ferry terminal for La Digue. The bus fare on Moorea is roughly 300 XPF. After reaching the La Digue ferry terminal, you will arrive at your destination. Be sure to check the ferry schedules in advance for both legs of the journey, as they can vary.
