Public Transport
To reach Tusheti National Park, start by taking a marshrutka (minivan) from Tbilisi's Ortachala Bus Station to Kvemo Alvani. The fare is approximately 12-15 GEL, and the journey takes around 2-3 hours. From Kvemo Alvani, shared 4x4 taxis are available to Omalo, the main village in Tusheti. A seat in a shared taxi costs 100-120 GEL per person, or you can hire the whole car for 500-650 GEL. The 4x4 journey to Omalo takes 4-6 hours via the Abano Pass. Be prepared for a challenging ride on a rough, unpaved road.
Taxi
Alternatively, hire a private 4WD taxi directly from Tbilisi to Tusheti. This is the most convenient but also the most expensive option. A private taxi from Tbilisi to Omalo costs around 500-650 GEL and takes approximately 5-6 hours. You can pre-book a driver through GoTrip or ask your guesthouse in Omalo to arrange transportation. Note that the road to Tusheti is only open from June to September, and a 4x4 vehicle is essential.
