Getting There

  • Car

    From Rabati Castle, head southeast on G. Tsitsishvili Street toward G. Tsitsishvili Street. Continue straight for about 1.5 kilometers. Turn right onto the road leading to Zarzma Monastery (MMH3+WG5) which is well marked. The monastery is located about 5 kilometers from this turn, and you will have to navigate through scenic countryside. The parking area is available near the monastery. Be aware that there may be a small fee for parking.

  • Public Transportation

    From Rabati Castle, walk to the nearest bus stop located at the entrance of the castle. Take a minibus (marshrutka) heading to Akhaltsikhe. Ask the driver to let you off at the Zarzma Monastery stop. Buses run frequently but check the schedule ahead of time. The fare is usually around 1 GEL. Once you alight, it’s about a 10-15 minute walk to the monastery along Zarzma Monastery Road.

  • Taxi

    For a more comfortable option, you can hail a taxi from near Rabati Castle. The ride to Zarzma Monastery will take approximately 15-20 minutes. Agree on a price before starting the ride; it should be around 10-15 GEL. Taxis are readily available in the area and can take you directly to the monastery.
