If you are driving to the National Theatre in Munich, head towards the city center (Altstadt-Lehel). Use the A9 motorway if coming from the north or the A92 from the east. Follow signs to 'München Zentrum' which will lead you to central Munich. Once you reach the city, look for parking near Max-Joseph-Platz. There are several public parking garages in the area, such as 'Parkhaus am Hofgarten' which charges approximately €3.50 per hour. After parking, the theatre is just a short walk away at Max-Joseph-Platz 2.

Public Transportation
To reach the National Theatre using public transportation, take the S-Bahn (suburban train) or U-Bahn (subway) to 'Marienplatz' station, which is well-connected from various locations in Bavaria. From Marienplatz, transfer to tram line 19 or walk (about 10 minutes) to 'Max-Joseph-Platz'. If you take the tram, get off at the 'Nationaltheater' stop. A single ticket costs around €3.20. Be sure to validate your ticket before boarding.

If you are coming from outside of Munich, take an intercity train to 'München Hauptbahnhof' (Munich Central Station). From there, you can either take the S-Bahn to 'Marienplatz' or a taxi directly to Max-Joseph-Platz. The taxi ride from the station should cost around €10-15. Alternatively, after arriving at the Hauptbahnhof, you can also take tram line 16 or 19 towards 'St. Emmeram' and get off at 'Nationaltheater'.
