Lüftlmalerei-Anna Maria: A Masterpiece of Oberammergau

Getting There

• Walking

  If you're already in the center of Oberammergau, the Lüftlmalerei-Anna Maria Jesus und Johannes der Täufer is located at Dorfstraße 18, just a short walk away. Start at the Oberammergau Tourist Information Center on Ludwigstraße, head east on Ludwigstraße until you reach the intersection with Dorfstraße. Turn left onto Dorfstraße and continue straight. The Lüftlmalerei will be on your right side at number 18. This walk is approximately 10 minutes.

• Bicycle

  For those who prefer cycling, you can rent a bicycle from one of the local shops in Oberammergau. Start from the main square and head towards Ludwigstraße. Continue on Ludwigstraße and take a left onto Dorfstraße. Follow the road until you reach number 18. The trip should take around 5 minutes depending on your cycling speed.

• Public Transportation

  If you're coming from nearby towns, you can take a regional train to Oberammergau station. From the station, exit and head towards the bus stop. Take bus line 9622 towards Oberammergau. Get off at the 'Dorfstraße' stop, which is the closest stop to Lüftlmalerei. From there, it's a short 2-minute walk to Dorfstraße 18. Make sure to check the local bus schedule for timings.   If you are driving, navigate to Oberammergau via the A95 autobahn. Take the exit towards Oberammergau and follow signs to the town center. Once in the town, look for parking options along Ludwigstraße or designated parking areas. After parking, walk east along Ludwigstraße and turn left onto Dorfstraße. The Lüftlmalerei is located at number 18. Parking fees may apply depending on the location.
