Bus
From Chania, head to the KTEL bus station located at 1866 Square (Platia 1866). Take the bus heading to Rethymno. The journey takes about 1 hour. Once you arrive at the Rethymno bus station, exit the station and head east on Sofokli Venizelou Street. Continue straight until you reach the junction with 25 Martiou Street, then turn left. Follow 25 Martiou Street for approximately 10 minutes until you reach the Fortezza of Rethymnon, located on your right.

Taxi
You can easily find a taxi in Chania, either at a taxi stand or by calling a local taxi service. Inform the driver that you want to go to the Fortezza of Rethymnon. The ride will take approximately 1 hour depending on traffic. The taxi will drop you off right at the entrance of the Fortezza.

If you are already in Rethymno and prefer to walk, start from the city center, near the Venetian Harbour. Head northeast along the waterfront until you reach the Old Town. Continue through the narrow streets, following signs toward the Fortezza. It's about a 20-minute walk from the Venetian Harbour to the Fortezza, and you will enjoy the charming streets along the way.
