Getting There

  • Public Bus

    From Heraklion's main bus station (KTEL), take a bus heading towards Agios Nikolaos. You will need to ask for a stop near Psichro. The journey takes approximately 1 hour. Once you arrive at the stop near Psichro, exit the bus and follow the signs towards the Cold Cave, which is about a 20-minute walk from the bus stop. Head northeast on the main road and then follow the local signs leading you to the cave.

  • Walking

    If you are starting in the city center, walk to the Heraklion Municipal Market and locate the nearest bus stop (KTEL). Board the bus as described above. If you prefer to walk instead, it is a long trek of about 30 kilometers, so it would be best to take the bus for convenience.

  • Taxi

    If you prefer a more direct route, you can take a taxi from Heraklion city center to Cold Cave. This option is more comfortable and will take around 40 minutes. Ensure to communicate the destination clearly to the driver, which is Psichro, 720 52.
