    From Heraklion, make your way to the central bus station, known as 'KTEL Heraklion-Lassithi'. You can easily walk there from most hotels in the city center. Once at the station, purchase a ticket for the bus heading to Agios Nikolaos. Buses run frequently, about every 30-60 minutes. After getting on the bus, enjoy the scenic ride through the Cretan countryside. You will need to get off at the bus stop in Agios Nikolaos. This journey takes approximately 1 hour.

    Once you arrive in Agios Nikolaos, find the KTEL bus station in the town center. Look for the bus that goes to 'Psichro', which is the village closest to the Lasithi Plateau Windmills. Again, purchase your ticket at the counter. The bus to Psichro leaves approximately every hour and takes around 30 minutes.
