Getting There

  • Walking

    If you are starting from the center of Kavala, head towards the waterfront promenade (N. Zampeli street). From there, walk towards the large square known as Eleftherias Square. Once you reach the square, look for the steps leading up to the old town (Ano Poli). These steps are located near the statue of Mohammed Ali. Follow these steps up, and you will enter the old town area. Continue walking straight until you see the entrance to Kavala Fortress on your left. The address is Isidorou 28, Kavala 652 01.

    If you are near the Kavala Archaeological Museum, exit the museum and head south towards the old town area. You can follow the signs that indicate the direction for the fortress.
