Getting There

  • Car

    From the Samaria Gorge entrance, drive towards Chania on E65 for approximately 40 km. Once you reach Chania, take the exit for Epar.Od. Tavronitis-Paleochoras (road signs will indicate this route). Continue on Epar.Od. Tavronitis-Paleochoras for about 23 km. Kandanos will be on your right. Look for the signs indicating the town as you approach.

  • Public Transportation

    From the Samaria Gorge exit, walk to the nearest bus stop (this may be near the entrance of the gorge). Take a local bus towards Chania (check the schedule as it varies seasonally). Once you reach Chania, transfer to a bus heading to Kandanos. The bus ride will take approximately 30 minutes.
