If you're traveling by car, navigate to Flores, Petén. From Flores, head towards the main road leading to Santa Elena. Once you reach the junction where you can see a sign for Ixpanpajul, take the turn. The entrance to Ixpanpajul is approximately 10 minutes from this junction. Parking is available at the site, but there may be a small fee.
Public Transportation
For those using public transportation, take a 'colectivo' (shared taxi) from Flores to Santa Elena. These can be found at various points in Flores. Inform the driver that you want to go to Ixpanpajul. The ride should take about 20-30 minutes. Be prepared to pay around 15-20 GTQ for the colectivo. Once you arrive at the junction for Ixpanpajul, you may need to walk or take a short tuk-tuk ride (approximately 10 GTQ) to reach the entrance.
Taxi
If you prefer a more direct route, you can hire a taxi from Flores to Ixpanpajul. This will be more expensive, typically costing between 100-150 GTQ, but it offers the convenience of a direct drop-off at the entrance. Make sure to negotiate the price before starting your journey.
