From Egilsstaðir, take Route 1 (the Ring Road) heading east. After approximately 50 km, turn onto Route 93 towards Mjóifjörður. Follow Route 93 for about 20 km until you reach the Mjóifjörður valley. Continue down towards the fjord, and keep an eye out for signs indicating the WWII US Navy LCM ship wreck. The wreck is located near the water’s edge, so parking along the roadside will allow you to walk to the site.
